Joan Panepinto is a Registered Nurse and Registered Dietitian with a passion for teaching nutrition and strategies for healthy eating. She is driven by her contagious love for people and the opportunities it brings to help both clients and friends incorporate practical nutrition into everyday life, as well as increase Celiac Disease awareness by working closely with chefs, restaurant owners, food service directors, fellow dietitians, and others in the food industry.
Joan is Vice President of Nutrition at GF Natural Foods in Williamsville, New York. It is the aim of GF Natural Foods to provide for its clientele tasty, all natural, center-of-the-plate protein foods that are also healthy, gluten-free, free of certain allergens, and meet the American Heart Association’s heart-check mark guides for cardiac health.
Joan holds Bachelor of Science degrees in both Nursing and Dietetics and has completed graduate course work at the University of Buffalo and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is a certified ServSafe™ Food Safety instructor and is a member of the American Dietetic Association, the Western New York Dietetic Association—which honored her with the “Emerging Dietitian Award” in 2006—and the Dietetic Practice Group for Weight Management, as well as national and local celiac awareness groups. Joan always strives to stay abreast of new developments in the areas of nutrition and food intolerance management by attending national conferences, continuing her education, and aligning herself with colleagues on the cutting edge.
Joan’s interest in nutrition and Celiac Disease extends to her personal life, as well. She follows a gluten-free diet herself, along with several members of her family including her mother, nephew, sister, two sister-in-laws and finance’. She hopes to clarify and demystify the concerns around gluten-free food preparation and help those suffering needlessly with proper diagnosis of Celiac Disease.
